By | 18 September 2009

Blavod Drinks has added a number of brands to its spirits portfolio, including the Islay malt whisky Bruichladdich.

Other brands added include Isle of Arran Malt Whisky, Lejay Lagoute liqueur, Routin 1883 premium cocktail syrups, the Hapsburg range of premium Absinthes and Balkan Vodka.

All the brands were previously handled by drinks distributor Malcolm Cowen.

Richard Ambler, managing director at Blavod Drinks, said: "We are delighted to add brands of this calibre and potential to our portfolio. They represent a great and complementary match to our existing brands and give us a really strong platform to continue to expand and grow."

For the year to March 2009, Blavod said it had posted increased profits on the back of sales growth of 45% in value terms and 36% in terms of volume. In the quarter to the end of June, the business again reported growth in spirit sales of over 35%.
