GERMANY: Bitburger stems sales decline

Bitburger has reported flat turnover and sales volumes for last year, as the German brewer combats a declining domestic market.

According to a report in Financial Times Deutschland, the country's second largest independent brewer halted a decline in sales that it saw in 2004.

Sales on the domestic market fell from 4.12m hectolitres to 4.08m hls last year, however turnover was unchanged at EUR389m.

No details of profit were released.
