Australian fruit juice group, Berri Holdings, is planning a major push into Asian markets. CEO Doug Shears said the company was looking firstly at Indonesia, and was weighing up options regarding how the expansion would be funded.

Shears said Berri, which moved back into the black in 2001 following losses in the two previous years, had recently completed a two-year restructuring programme which had involved upgrades at a number of its plants. Berri's annual sales are in excess of $A570m, giving it more than 50% of the Australian fruit juice market.
