AUSTRALIA: Beringer contribution set to boost Foster's

Analysts are predicting that the first full 12-month contribution from Beringer will boost 2002 profits at Australian wine and beer company, Foster's Group.

The Multex Global Estimates survey of 15 analysts' forecasts pointed to a full-year net profit of A$557.6m ($301m), with the forecasts falling within a range from A$573m to A$547m. Last year, Foster's posted a net profit before one-off items of A$490.7m and A$465.2m after one-off items. No significant one-off items are expected for 2002.
