Belvédère has posted a leap in sales for the first half of this year.

The French spirits and wine group said today (15 August) that sales in the first six months of this year rose by an impressive 46.9% on the corresponding period a year earlier, reaching EUR501.6m (US$676.5m). On a pro forma basis, sales were up by 16.7%.

Belvédère noted that the integration of US spirits company Florida Distillers in April and other acquisitions in Poland in the period contributed EUR18.6m and EUR53.4m repsectively.

In volume terms, sales of spirits rose by 24% to 6.7m nine-litre cases, with wine sales jumping 60.2% to 7.9m cases.
