The Polish beer market has continued to see growth over the first six months of this year, according to figures from the National Union of Beer Industry Employers (ZPPP).

Overall sales in the period reached 12m hectolitres against 11.1m hectolitres sold in the same period in 2001.

The countries leading are the Heineken controlled Zywiec Group, which sold 4m hectolitres of beer in 2002 compared to 3.79m hl in the same period in 2001 and Kompania Piwowarska, which sold 3.8m hl.

The third goes to Carlsberg Okocim with 1.7m hectolitres, and the fourth biggest company operating on the market is Brau Union with sales topping 0.7m hectolitres of beer.
