Ball Packaging Europe has appointed a new marketing director to take advantage of new trends.

Benoit Hirszowski took over the role last month, the drinks can producer announced today (14 Aug). 

Hirszowski replaces Gerlof Toenhake in the role. Toenhake has remained at the company however, as director for customer relationship management, a spokesperson said. 

Hirszowski, who has 20 years experience in the liquid food packaging sector, previously worked as Tetra Pak's South Europe marketing and product management director. 

“My primary objective is to anticipate market needs to better capture opportunities,” Hirszowski said.

“We have to analyse how we can optimise certain beverage can formats and value-adding features for the specific needs of beverage categories such as beer, soft drinks, energy drinks, water or wine. The beverage can holds great potential particularly in a changing business environment.”

Hirszowski is based at the company's Swiss offices in Zurich. Ball Packaging Europe is the European subsidiary of Ball Corp.
