PERU: Backus posts 40% fall in third-quarter profit

Peruvian drinks group Union de Cervecerias Peruanas Backus & Johnston (Backus) has reported a 40% drop in third-quarter profits to PEN81.3m (US$27m).
 
The company, which is controlled by global brewing force SABMiller, attributed the fall in profit partly to rising costs. Quarterly sales rose from PEN405.6m to PEN491.1m.
