UK: Bacardi-Martini makes leadership appointment

Bacardi-Martini UK has appointed Mark de Witte as country manager for the UK and Ireland.
Currently general manager for Bacardi Nederland, de Witte will succeed John Beard, UK chief executive, who is leaving the company.
Previous to joining Bacardi-Martini in 2000, de Witte worked in a variety of sales and marketing roles including general manager for Seagram Nederland.
Patrick Sauvageot, regional president for Europe said: "Mark is an energetic and insightful executive who has led Bacardi to become the leading spirits company in The Netherlands. We look forward to his leadership in the UK and Ireland."
Beard will be leaving the company after a transition period. He has held several senior UK roles and made "valuable contributions to the business in the emerging markets and in global travel retail," the company said.
