UK: Bacardi appoints new duty-free chief
Bacardi Global Brands has appointed Maurice Doyle as the general manager of its new standalone travel-retail business unit.
The new UK-based global business unit also includes marketing director Ylva Persson and Bacardi's regional travel-retail vice presidents, all of whom report to Doyle.
"My appointment reflects the growing importance our company is placing on the travel-retail and duty-free sector as a shop window for premium and super premium brands," said Doyle. "We have a portfolio, which is perfectly placed to meet the needs of the international traveller, and with the continuation of innovative marketing programs, as well as additional efforts, we plan to meet the challenges of travel-retail head on."
Employed by Bacardi-Martini since 1992, Doyle was previously the company's commercial director UK and general manager Republic of Ireland.
