US wine importer AV Brands has changed its name to Aveniu Brands.
Owned by Spain's Codorniu Group, AV Brands, which currently markets around 30 brands from nine countries, said late last week that the name change reflects the company's heritage.
"We are committed to long-term growth and brand-building initiatives that further our mission to develop exclusive relationships and bring exceptional wine and spirits to the marketplace that truly reflect their origins," said Roy Danis, president of Aveniu Brands.
The company's portfolio includes Artesa Winery, with vineyards in the Napa and Sonoma Valleys, Bodega Septima in Mendoza and Bodegas Bilbainas in Rioja.
Earlier this year AV Brands appointed a vice president for its western region in the US.
The company appointed Charles Spelman to fill the role, joining AV from Joel Gott Wines, where he was national sales manager.
