UK cidermaker Aston Manor has announced plans to build a new “multi-million” pound warehousing and distribution facility.

The Birmingham-based producer will develop an 84,000 square-feet hub close to the M6 at Witton, near to its factory in Aston, it said today (1 July). The warehousing and logistics element will be operational for Aston Manor from next month.

A suite of offices for the group's management and support functions will also be built by next Spring.

The new investment follows a GBP10m (US$17m) upgrade to the company's Tiverton site and a new fruit processing facility installed at its Stourport-on-Severn premises.

Gordon Johncox, the firm's MD, said: “This investment represents the continuation of our intent to build the capability and capacity to support the future growth of the business.”
