JAPAN: Asahi to build fifth Chinese brewery - report

Asahi Breweries is set to invest JPY3.7bn (US$33.6m) on building a new plant in China, according to reports.
The Japanese brewer plans to start building the brewery in the city of Huzhou, near Shanghai, with the site expected to be up and running from May next year. Asahi has decided to build a new plant as its existing site in Huzhou has almost reached capacity, a spokesman told Dow Jones today (12 May).
The site will be Asahi's fifth in China. Asahi officials could not be reached as just-drinks went to press.
