The Argento Wine Company has appointed Amelia Nolan as its new general manager. The company said Nolan would take up her position early this month.

Nolan, who is a graduate of the University of Adelaide and Roseworthy College, has been brought in to develop the global presence of Argento which is currently the leading brand of Argentine wine. The company currently operates in 30 countries.

"I am delighted that we have got someone of such a high calibre on board, as this is just what the Argentine category needs," said Argento's managing director, Dan Jago. "With Amelia's leading brand experience and international outlook, we are very positive about Argento's future."

Nolan was formerly with Constellation Europe where she was responsible for sales and marketing of the Cellar Door premium wines division. She had been with Hardy's since 1995.
