PepsiCo plans to penetrate the Indian bottled water market with a second production line for its mineral water brand, Aquafina.

Aquafina, which is produced at Roha in Maharashtra, is currently only available in 750ml packs, priced at Rs 10 ($0.21). But a report by the Hindu Business Line claims that as soon as the new Aquafina production line, situated at Pepsi's Kolkata plant becomes operational Pepsi will be forced to look at new pack sizes.

Reports also suggest that Pepsi is likely to launch a new 500ml version of Aquafina in India later this year.

Meanwhile Coca-Cola maintains that its mineral water brand Kinley is now the second-largest selling brand after Bisleri leaving Aquafina trailing in third position. Kinley, which currently has seven production lines, is available in 500ml and one litre packs. And according to the report Coca-Cola is currently in the midst of launching a new 1.5 litre pack in select Indian markets.
