Apollinaris & Schweppes, one of Germany's best-known producers of mineral water and soft drinks, has announced a €25m (US$22.3m) investment in its new marketing campaign. The move is aimed at boosting sales and strengthening its market position though it already claims a 90% brand awareness for its mineral water.

With a major investment of €25m in new bottling equipment, polyester bottles and packaging, the company will launch the new look under the "Blue System" name. The company will offer its mineral water products in reusable polyester (PET) bottles and its soft drinks in two-way PET bottles.

Apollinaris said 45% of German consumers preferred its mineral water, a total of 60% bought the Apollinaris mineral water regularly and 90% knew the company's products.
