AmBev gained more ground in the Brazilian beer market last month, according to figures released yesterday. The company, according to Reuters, said that data from market research firm AC Nielsen showed that its share of the market rose in June by 0.3% to 66.3%.

AmBev's bitter rival in its home market, Schincariol, saw its market share remain stable at 13.1% in June, AmBev said.

According to AmBev, Molson Inc. saw its share of the Brazilian beer market slip, however, to 10.9% from 11.1% in May, its third consecutive monthly drop.

Schincariol and AmBev have been locked in a bitter battle for Brazilian market share which has seen the two square up in court. AmBev has spent more on marketing this year in an attempt to recover its traditional 67% to 70% share.
