FINLAND: Altia Corporation mulls move for Vin & Sprit - report
Altia Corporation is the latest name to be linked with the potential sale of Vin & Sprit, according to reports.
Esmerk Swedish News said yesterday (17 October) that the Finland-based alcohol distributor is mulling making a bid for the Swedish company together with another partner. The news service said that Altia is in talks with several possible partners, including private equity firm EQT, which last week said it was keen to acquire the state-owned business, should the Swedish government vote in favour of a sale.
Altia's discussions with EQT relate to the Finnish company purchasing part of V&S should EQT succeed in buying the whole group, Esmerk noted.
No-one was available at Altia to confirm the reports when contacted by just-drinks today.
The Swedish government is expected to vote on whether to sell V&S in the next six weeks.
