FINLAND: Altia Corporation confirms new CEO

By | 31 August 2007

Altia Corporation has unveiled its new CEO.

The Finland-based alcohol distributor said today (31 August) that Antti Pankakoski will assume the position from tomorrow.

Pankakoski replaces Leena Saarinen, who left the company in May. Saarinen resigned from Altia after costs related to a fuel ethanol plant project spiralled. Saarinen took responsibility for the costings of the discontinued project, and subsequently tendered her resignation.

Pankakoski joins Altia from Silja Line Oy Ab, where he had been managing director between 2003 and the end of last year.

"Antti Pankakoski's international and Nordic knowledge and extensive corporate management experience is a good fit for Altia's current and future challenges," said Altia's chairman Jarmo Leppiniemi.

Altia distributes beer, wine and spirits across the Nordic and Baltic states.

Sectors: Beer & cider, Spirits, Wine
