UK drinks giant Allied Domecq has announced that it has extended its distribution agreement with Suntory International to handle Midori Liqueur in the US.

The terms of the agreement were not disclosed.

Allied Domecq North America president Todd Martin said: "I'm confident that our strong partnership with Suntory International will results in continued growth for Midori. Our investment in the brand is consistent with Allied' Domecq's strategy of developing a portfolio of high-growth premium spirits and wine brands."

The melon liqueur under Allied handling has grown 170% in the past five years.
