Alfresco Drinks has launched what it claims is an “alcohol-free” alternative to wine, made with naturally-fermented grape juice and carbonated water.

Anon, which also claims to contain “no-added sugar”, was launched in UK department store Fortnum and Mason last week. White and rosé varieties come in 75cl and 25cl bottles, with the larger available in crates of six, and the smaller in crates of 12.

Robin Sheppard, Alfresco Drinks' MD, said Anon is “a great alternative to wine, with all of the flavour but none of the alcohol”.

A company spokesperson told just-drinks it is aimed at “careful drivers, teetotalers, religious groups, as well as pregnant women and individuals with medical conditions – or those who just don’t want an alcoholic drink”.
