All six are available in 75cl bottles and retail at INR520 (US$9.35) per unit. The 100% agave, however, has a suggested selling price of INR795.00.
The products initially launched in Goa, but will hit Mumbai & Pune this month. The city of Bangalore will also see the brands later this year.
Agave India is based in Mumbai and has blending, bottling and packaging operations in Goa and a micro-distillery in Andhra Pradesh.
The agave variants are produced from agave harvested in India and have been released to “provide local competition for imported Mexican agave spirits”, the company said.

Ever since I tasted Desmondji products I have to confess I loved them...each and every one of them from the 100%, to the 51%, to the 2 Margarita blends, to the blue Curacao and Orange Liquers. These premium drinks are surely underpriced for their value, taste and content. Desmondji has been getting rave reviews from several sources. Refer to their website and Facebook. www.desmondji.com.
Unfortunately because of the beaucratic obstacles this marvellous product has not yet been launched all over India. It is high time the Indian Government recognised the value of this product to boost our economy and encourages bold and innovative entrepreneurs by reducing the taxes on liquors. Desmond, I am told is hindered every which way because of tedious and delaying tactics by governmental agencies who are looking to make a fast buck by way of bribes etc. in order to hasten the process. This is outrageous and should be condemned by all law-abiding citizens who want their country to prosper economically. Why not encourage home-made products which give jobs and income to local farmers and job-seekers, instead of importing products from abroad and diverting our resources?
I heartily congratulate Desmond Nazareth on his bold and courageous inititative to launch such a fantastic product.
