Accolade Wines has agreed to sell Black Bottle and XO Brandy to Vok Beverages in order to focus on its core wine business.

Australia-based Vok will acquire the two brandy brands for an undisclosed fee, Accolade said today (30 September). The deal is expected to close by the end of October.

Accolade's CEO, Troy Christensen, said: “The spirit beverage category is unique. Given that we do not have any plans to focus on brandy and this category, it is better to transition them to a specialist.” Accolade's owner, Champ Private Equity, is keen to focus on the group's core wine brands, including Hardys and Banrock Station.

Vok's MD, Angelo Kotses, said that the purchase of Black Bottle represents "sensational value". He said: "This acquisition is in keeping with our desire to build on Vok’s current portfolio of quality, company-owned brands, such as Vok liqueurs, Vok Ready to Serve Cocktails, Vickers Gin, Infused Rush and Three Oaks Cider.”
