Accolade is moving its North America HQ to Napa

Accolade Wines is moving its North America HQ east from Healdsburg to Napa, California.

The wine group's US marketing and sales team will move the 50 miles to Napa, along with much of its finance team, the company announced late last week.

It follows the news that the company is moving the distribution of its Australian brands in North America in-house, away from Constellation Brands.

“From an international perspective, Napa is the global icon as the home of America's wine industry. It offers a greater radius of recruitment prospects for all levels of positions and provides easy access for national and international travel,” Accolade's US MD, Tim Matz, said. Matz took the role in September last year.

Operations staff,  including director of operations, Michael Jefferies and director of winemaking, Ondine Chattan, will stay at the company's Geyser Peak Winery in Geyserville, California.

In surprise move on Friday, Accolade announced that its CEO Troy Christensen was leaving the company that same day. The group gave no reason for Christensen's departure but said it was by “mutual agreement”.
