There are 450 wine wineries and negociants in South Africa, with 44 new wineries, 33 new ranges and at least 513 new wines launched in the past year. More than 4,000 wines were recorded in the 2003 John Platter South African Wine Guide, which is as comprehensive a list of details provided about wines and wineries in the country.
