US: 7-Eleven pulls Cocaine drink - report

An energy drink called Cocaine has been pulled from the shelves of 7-Eleven convenience stores in the US.

The US retailer decided to remove the high-caffeine drink from its stores following customer complaints. The drink, which is produced by Las Vegas-based Redux Beverages, has its name written on cans in what appears to be lines of white powder, but does not actually contain any cocaine.

Speaking to the Associated Press this week, managing partner Hannah Kirby, whose husband created the drink, played down the move, saying that 7-Eleven did not account for many sales of the drink.

"7-Eleven is not recommending this product be stocked," a spokeswoman for the chain told the news service.
