The Austrian Wine Marketing Association (ÖWM) has reported record turnover from last year's domestic wine exports.

The ÖWM said late last week that, despite export volumes being similar to the previous year's results, revenue from exports rose by 14% with Germany leading the export markets, followed by Switzerland and the US.

Austria exported 42.1m litres of wine equivalent to EUR77.8m (US$114.5m) in the first ten months of 2007, compared to 42.9m litres worth EUR66.3m for the same period in 2006.

ÖWM added that, last year, Austria produced 255m litres of wine, compared to 226m in 2006, reflecting an average of 248m litres annually from 2000 through 2006.
