According to the latest IWSR report, still light wine in China grew 28.6% in 2009 and is expected to reach 100m cases in 2010. Wine consumption among Chinese people continues to grow, as the Chinese Government looks favourably on a switch from baijiu to wine, with its lower alcohol content. Wine is growing strongly for banquets, business-to-business offers, and even gifts to employers by large companies during festive periods.

The IWSR Wine in China Report contains a breakdown of the Chinese wine market by colour imported v local, country of origin and by brand. The report covers still light wine, sparkling wine, fortified wines, light aperitifs and other wines.
