The IWSR Vodka in Russia Report
Report description
Vodka consumption is ingrained in Russian culture. Local vodkas dominate and there is still a large amount of home-production and illegal production.
Imports have made an impact on the market since the collapse of the Soviet Union and, although the market is fairly saturated, there have been new brand success stories over the last five years for both local and imported brands, with premiumisation trends showing before the economic crisis. The economic crisis has led to bankruptcy or reduced production for some companies, thereby giving an opening for other brands to secure their grip on the market.
Discover how the growth trends in Russia are developing and which brands are defying the economic downturn. The IWSR Vodka in Russia Report shows consumption of vodka broken down by quality, local v imported and by brand. The report also includes on- and off-trade splits, distributor information, 2010 forecasts and pricing information taken from in-country store checks.
This report is extracted from The IWSR's 2010 wine and spirits database.
