Sales of spirits in Morocco were negatively affected towards the end of the review period by increases levied in interior consumption tax during 2010 and again in 2012. In addition to these tax increases, the declines recorded in the number of inbound tourist arrivals and incoming tourist receipts during 2012 meant that fewer tourists arrived in Morocco, while those tourists who did still visit the country spent less money whilst within Morocco.
