BMI View: The Singaporean economy continued its strong performance in early 2014 and we envisage private consumption accelerating slightly to 4.0% in 2014 from 2.6% in 2013. However, the possibilities for strong growth in the food and drink industry are limited by the relatively mature state of the sector. To 2018, we forecast only modest food consumption CAGR of 2.1% in local currency terms.
