Until 1 September 2011, excise duty for cider/perry was zero. From this date new excise duties were set; however they were significantly lower than the excise duty for spirit-based RTDs or beer. Excise duty on cider/perry in 2012 grew quarterly. The excise duty for non-grape cider in Q1 in 2012 was BYR520 per litre of product, while in Q4 it was BYR580 an increase of 11.5%.
