Alcoholic Drinks Packaging in South Africa
Report description
Despite being under pressure, glass remains the most popular pack type for alcoholic drinks in South Africa, as both an established supply system and equally strong expectations from consumers in terms of quality and finish continue to characterise the bulk of sales. Glass manufacturer Nampak Wiegand Glass launched the lightest of all 750ml glass wine bottles in South Africa, helping glass to gain volume share. This new ultra lightweight bottle weighs 340g, compared to the standard 450g bottle.
