Biography

Chris MercerChris first decided to make money out of his drinking while living in balmy southern France.

Having trained as a journalist in the UK, he became the drinks correspondent for Decision News Media in Montpellier and soon found himself chasing everyone from multinational brewers to French wine terrorists.

He has since worked freelance for the BBC, Sunday Telegraph and a range of drinks titles, including Decanter Magazine.

Before signing for just-drinks as deputy editor in July 2008, Chris was responsible for online news at a number of William Reed Business Media drinks titles, including Drinks International.

During the past five years, Chris has been interviewed on drinks sector developments by a range of mainstream media, including CNBC television, BBC Radio and national newspapers.

Chris now has a taste for wine outside of his price range.
