If you were one of the many that filled in our survey about the UK wine market in the last few weeks, we thank you kindly for your time. The results will be published in a report in time for the London International Wine Fair next month, so your free copy will be with you soon.

Speaking of the wine fair – and the survey results – just-drinks will be hosting its annual presentation at the three-day exhibition, on the Wednesday afternoon at 1615. If you're attending the wine fair, click here to book your seat for our hour-long debate, which features an excellent panel of trade brains.

And, if you're not at the fair, click here to follow our live, online webinar of the presentation.

Finally, on the wine fair front, we start our annual daily diary tomorrow, detailing who's doing what at the trade show. If you'd like your company's activities covered, then email us at news@just-drinks.com.

To last week – Monday was news day, it would appear. No sooner had speculation that Beam Inc was buying Pinnacle vodka receive confirmation, than Central Eastern Distribution Corp and Russian Standard announced that they had finally climbed into bed together.

But, wait: Two's not news, is it? Okay, well how about adding in the announcement that SABMiller's CEO is to stand down?

Throw in PepsiCo's Q1 results, the resignation of Anheuser-Busch InBev's CMO, and an interview with Diageo's global category director of whisk(e)y, and you'd be forgiven for suggesting that the devil will make work for idle hands to do.

Until next time...
