Although we are UK-based, just-drinks' coverage of the drinks industry is avowedly global. The question I often ask myself, when considering UK stories, is 'would our Korean reader care?'

Well, last week, our Korean reader heard quite a bit from us in the UK. From Monday to Wednesday, we were at the Consumer Analyst Group of Europe's conference in London. With senior executives from the likes of SABMiller, Coca-Cola Co and C&C Group presenting to around 250 analysts, we made the most of our exclusive media partnership to bring you a wealth of exclusives.

Then, on Thursday, I chaired a session at the World Whiskies Conference, again in the UK capital. We've always enjoyed teaming up with the organisers of this event. Should they come good on their promise of taking the conference abroad next year, I'll be hoping to top up the tan in 2013.

Finally, Friday's headlines were dominated by the UK government's proposal to introduce minimum pricing. The curious timing (on a Friday?) of the announcement was barely the half of it: The industry was highly vocal on the matter, naturally; and, with the Government claiming that the move is not illegal, when it really, really, probably is, it looks like our Korean reader will hear more about this in the months to come.

Whether he likes it or not!

Until next time...
